Prior to joining NKU, I spent nearly the last 10 years as Senior Vice President, Global Manufacturing & North American Operations for General Cable.

    Plan your time and execute your plan so as not to fall behind, as the AO courses move quickly.

  • What do you want students in your courses to learn? What is the learning outcome or objective?

    • Identify operations-related issues in analysis of general business problems
    • Identify operations-related decisions and assess their effectiveness cross-functionally
    • Understand the role and status of operations management in the national and world economies and within the firm as it relates to business strategy
    • Understand the interdependence of operations management with other key functional areas of an organization and the relationship interdependencies
    • Understand process configuration alternatives that exist and how choice of process influences operations methods and effectiveness
    • Identify and evaluate a range of tools appropriate for design and analysis of operating systems of an organization
    • Understand the role of operations management policies and techniques in enhancing market value and performance of service and manufacturing firms
    • Learn to work in a diverse group of operational business leaders representing multiple firms and industries
    • Learn experientially by visiting area businesses, touring their operations, and gaining and understanding of their business model, design of supply chain, and current or foreseen operational challenges

    The ability to understand the trade-offs of various operational decisions. Multitasking, relationship development, collaborative skills, and adaptability to an ever-changing business environment.

    My great grandfather was captain of the Portsmouth Football Club that won England's Football Association Challenge Cup, known as the FA Cup.
