In 2017, I accepted a Nurse Practitioner position in an Adult Interventional Pain Management Private Practice. In 2019, I accepted a Nurse Practitioner position in a Pediatric Pre-Anesthesia Consultation Clinic.

Why did you start teaching?
I started teaching because I love giving back. I was very fortunate to have many great teachers while I was obtaining my education.
What advice would you give to those considering this online program?
Nursing is a wonderful career choice. I encourage job shadowing to gain a better understanding of the profession if they are considering this online program.
What qualities make someone particularly successful in the field in which you teach?
Compassionate, excellent communicator, intelligent.
What do you think is the biggest challenge that people in the profession face today?
Time management and increasing acuity

My husband and I are blessed with an adorable infant and rambunctious toddler.
What do you want students in your courses to learn? What is the learning outcome or objective?
I want students to have a deep understanding of concepts instead of using memorization for a test. A deep understanding of concepts will allow them to appropriately apply important critical-thinking skills when they are caring for their patients.
