What do you want students in your courses to learn? What is the learning outcome or objective?
There is a quote that says, “They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel.” As I teach students in allied health fields, it is important to give them a strong foundation of knowledge, but also to remind them that they will be working with patients who have feelings and families. They must never lose sight of this.

Tell us something interesting about yourself that your students may not know about you.
I have been at NKU since 1975, and it is more fun every year. While teaching nursing students biology, I realized that I could help them more if I knew more about the nursing program and nursing careers. I decided to go back to school and get my RN, and it was a great decision.
