- Ph.D. Educational Leadership and Organizational Development – University of Louisville, 2015
- MSc. Human Resource Education – University of Louisville, 2006

Career Highlights:
I have been teaching online and in the classroom since 2015 in the Organizational Leadership Program at NKU. I find my online classes to be just as engaging as my traditional classes. I incorporate various technological tools such as Zoom, VoiceThread and discussion forums to enhance participation and engagement. My research interests include:
- Skills and capacity development initiatives in organizations and communities.
- Non-traditional insights on leadership such as elevating the roles of followers to complement leadership effectiveness.
Which online degree program(s) do you teach?
Why did you start teaching?
Teaching gives me the opportunity to share my knowledge and experiences with others and to make a positive contribution to others’ learning and development.
What advice would you give to those considering this online program?
Taking online courses does not mean you are isolated from your classmates or instructor. I use a variety of tools to create a challenging, inclusive and enriching learning experience for students.
What qualities make someone particularly successful in the field in which you teach?
Organizational leadership focuses on what it means to be an effective leader in a variety of settings. It seeks to develop the skills and knowledge leaders draw upon to manage people, relationships, and resources to achieve organizational goals. These skills include teamwork, creativity, critical thinking, innovation, interpersonal and conflict resolution, emotional intelligence and many more.
What do you think is the biggest challenge that people in the profession face today?
The biggest challenge facing organizational leaders is rapid changes in the workplace due to a variety of factors. These leaders must be competent in mobilizing and motivating their organizational members to respond to changes. Organizational leaders who promote a growth and learning culture have a better chance of surviving changes and increasing their organizational outcomes.
What is the one book you think everyone should read?
"Americanah" by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
Tell us something interesting about yourself that your students may not know about you.
I have lived and worked in three countries: Ghana, United Kingdom and United States. I like meeting people and getting to learn about their cultures and lives. I believe each person has a special story that contributes to my understanding of the world. I love to travel, garden, and spend time with my family and friends.
What do you want students in your courses to learn? What is the learning outcome or objective?
I want my students to approach learning with curiosity, and in the process, develop the tools and strategies they need to be effective leaders in their personal and professional lives.
