What do you want students in your courses to learn? What is the learning outcome or objective?
I want my students to strengthen their problem solving skills, select accurate methods for solving real-world problems, utilize technology appropriately, and discover what makes a procedure optimal and efficient.
What advice would you give to those considering this online program?
Instructors may seem distant or unavailable in online courses, but that is not the case for online instructors at NKU. We want you to succeed and are willing to help; the same is true for our face-to-face students. Contact your instructors whenever you have questions, visit office hours, and meet virtually with classmates.
Why did you start teaching?
I started teaching because of my love for mathematics; I continue teaching because of my students.
What is the one book you think everyone should read?
“Make it Stick: The Science of Successful Learning” by Peter C. Brown, Henry L. Roediger III, and Mark A. McDaniel
Tell us something interesting about yourself that your students may not know about you.
