    I have been an educator in one way or another for most of my career. I enjoy interacting with people who are eager to learn.

    Global supply chain management is a vast and exciting field, covering many areas from supplier relationship management to quality and operations to distribution and transportation, all of which require both hard and soft skills. Make sure you keep learning outside the classroom as well.

  • What qualities make someone particularly successful in global supply chain management?

    • Broad knowledge of supply chain management and logistics
    • The ability to see the bigger picture and understand global issues
    • Skills in data analytics
    • Troubleshooting, problem solving, and information technology skills
    • Project management skills, such as leadership and time management
    • A desire to learn, adaptability, confidence, empathy, and honesty
  • What do you think is the biggest challenge that people in global supply chain management face today?

    The pace of change in the field.

    “Why Nations Fail” by Daron Acemoglu and James A. Robinson.
