B.S.B.A. in General Business

  • Which classes do you teach online?

MGT 300: Behavior in Organizations: Understanding Organizational Life

  • When did you start teaching?

I started teaching in 2013 and began teaching online in 2015.

  • What advice would you give to those considering the online B.S.B.A. program?

My first piece of advice is for students to start strongly. Grading in an online course can be a very slippery slope, and it can be incredibly difficult to catch up, so do not let yourself fall behind early. The second is to communicate often with your instructor. We are all here to help you learn and to help you succeed. That is truly our No. 1 focus. If you have questions, or issues arise, always reach out to us. Keeping open lines of communication, especially in the online environment, is critical to both your enjoyment of the course and your success.

  • What qualities make someone particularly successful in business?

Having an open mind and appreciating that everyone has different backgrounds, through processes and personalities. It is crucial to remember that every single person brings strengths and assets to the organization. The earlier you realize, embrace, and appreciate that, the better leader you will be!

  • What do you think is the biggest challenge that people in the profession face today?

In the business world, hardly anything is clear cut — especially when it comes to working with people. Embrace differences and focus on how that gives your team, organization, etc., a true competitive advantage!

  • What is the one book you think everyone should read?

“Autobiography of a Face” by Lucy Grealy.

  • Tell us something interesting about yourself that your students might not know about you.

I absolutely love to travel. I am up for an adventure going anywhere. I love to explore new places, but I also have a deep love for Disney parks. In fact, by the time my daughter was two years old, she had been to Disney World nine times.
