What you need to know before applying

The admission process is the first step toward earning your Master of Accountancy degree online.

Admission Requirements:

  • Official transcripts of all coursework from accredited institutions
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting
  • 2.8 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale

MAcc Online Admission Requirements

  • Complete online application and pay $40 non-refundable application fee
    • If you are an NKU alum or active/veteran military member, your application fee will be waived
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting
  • Submit official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate (if applicable) coursework from accredited institutions with a minimum undergraduate overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.8 or higher
  • If you have a GPA lower than 2.8, you may be considered for admission to the program. Please submit evidence of preparedness for a rigorous specialty graduate program. This should include a statement regarding your motivation for pursuing a MAcc (no more than 250 words) as well as one or more of the following:
    • A current resume with evidence of work experience
    • Letter(s) of recommendation
    • Other evidence of preparedness
  • If an international applicant, IBT, TOEFL or equivalent with a minimum score of 550 or IELTS minimum score of 6.5 must be submitted to the NKU Office for International Students and Scholar Services

Advanced knowledge concerning principles and practice of auditing, reading of auditing standards, analysis of cases involving auditing, and procedures in the conduct of an audit by a CPA. Examines functions and responsibilities, internal control, statistical sampling, reporting, information technology auditing, statistical sampling, legal responsibilities, audit and attestation reports, and ethics.
